Refueling Safety

Ignition Source is always a concern in refueling. When connected to a vehicle the system itself is fully grounded. the fuel hose has an internal grounding wire also. It is always a good idea to have a simple coated stranded aircaft cable with two alligator clips at each end as a redundant ground. You can simply connect to the fuel nozzle and connect the other end to the ground in some fashion. The most common source of Electrostatic Discharge is not from the system, but from the operator. One should always make a point of touching something nearby to ground and discharge themselves before touching the nozzle. This is especially important in Winter months. Should the fumes ignite for some reason it is very important not to remove the nozzle from the fill neck. Just step back and let the fumes exhaust out. Pulling the nozzle from the fill neck when a fire is present could easily result in an uncontrolled fire event and serious bodily harm .

Your system includes a PreVent Fill Cap. It is padlockable. The Cap has two positions on it. One is locked all the one down for transport. When the system is parked and not moving around the fill cap should be turned back one notch to allow the tank to vent more easily. Shaded areas will result in less venting. Never store the system indoors. Vented fumes must be free to dissapate. Your sysem is equipped with a 4 inch Emergency Vent Valve Opening. The Emergency Vent Valve is optional and not included. The Emergency Vent Valve allows fumes to escape in a high volume and controlled manner in case of fire. This prevents the tank from swelling and rupturing in a fire.

This refueling trailer is legal nationwide. This system has a special exemption under the DOT and NMFCS CFR 49. All paper work is included with the system that sights these regulations .You may have local ordinances to consider . Be sure to read the paper work that is included with the system.
